- Hair Conditioning: Amla (Indian gooseberry) is rich in vitamin C and antioxidants, which can help nourish and condition the hair. It may improve the overall texture of the hair, making it softer and more manageable.
- Hair Strengthening: Amla is believed to strengthen hair follicles, reducing hair breakage and split ends. This, combined with the conditioning properties of herbal henna, can contribute to healthier and stronger hair.
- Natural Hair Coloring: Herbal henna is known for providing a natural coloring effect to the hair. It imparts a reddish-orange tint, and the combination with amla and katha powder may enhance the color or provide different shades, depending on the proportions used.
- Scalp Health: Amla has antimicrobial properties that may help maintain a healthy scalp environment. This can be particularly beneficial for those dealing with dandruff or scalp irritation.
- Gray Coverage: Herbal henna is often used for covering gray hair naturally. The combination with amla and katha powder may enhance the coverage and contribute to a more even color distribution.
- Cooling Effect: Amla and herbal henna are considered to have a cooling effect on the scalp, providing a soothing sensation. This can be especially beneficial for individuals with a hot or irritated scalp.
- Enhanced Color Depth: Amla is known to deepen the color of henna. The combination of amla, herbal henna, and katha powder may result in a more vibrant hair color.
- Natural and Chemical-Free: Using amla, herbal henna, and katha powder means avoiding synthetic chemicals commonly found in commercial hair dyes. This makes the mixture a natural and organic alternative for those who prefer chemical-free hair care.
4) How to Use?
For Natural Black Hair Color:
- Prepare Herbal Henna Paste: Start by preparing a herbal henna paste. Mix herbal henna powder and one teaspoon amla powder with warm water or tea decoction to create a thick paste. Allow the henna paste to release its dye by letting it sit for a few hours or overnight.
- Prepare Indigo Paste: In a glass bowl, create a thick paste by mixing Indigo powder with warm water. Let the indigo paste sit for 5 to 10 minutes to release its dye, and then mix this paste with the henna paste. To achieve a darker shade, consider adding ½ tsp of corn starch powder and a pinch of salt to the indigo paste.
- Apply Herbal Henna-Indigo Paste: Divide your hair into multiple sections and apply the herbal henna-indigo paste to your clean, dry hair. Ensure your hair is fully coated, from roots to tips. Cover your hair with a shower cap and let it sit for 2 to 3 hours to develop color.
- Rinse and Wash: Rinse your hair thoroughly with water until it runs clear. Avoid using shampoo immediately after applying indigo, as the color may continue to develop over the next 24-48 hours.
For Deep Black Hair Color:
- Prepare Herbal Henna Paste: Mix herbal henna powder and one teaspoon amla powder with warm water or tea decoction to create a thick paste. Allow the henna paste to release its dye by letting it sit for a few hours or overnight.
- Apply Herbal Henna First: Divide your hair into multiple sections and apply the herbal henna paste to your clean, dry hair. Ensure your hair is fully coated, from roots to tips. Cover your hair with a shower cap and let it sit for 2 to 3 hours to develop color.
- Prepare Indigo Paste: In a glass bowel, create a thick paste by mixing Indigo powder with warm water. Let the indigo paste sit for 5 to 10 minutes to release its dye. To achieve a darker shade, consider adding ½ tsp of corn starch powder and a pinch of salt to the indigo paste.
- Apply Indigo: After rinsing the henna paste, apply the indigo paste to your hair. Cover your hair again with a shower cap and let it sit for 2 hours. Indigo develops more quickly than henna, so keep a close watch.
- Rinse and Wash: Rinse your hair thoroughly with water until it runs clear. Avoid using shampoo immediately after applying indigo, as the color may continue to develop over the next 24-48 hours.
